Every year, the MTV Video Music Awards generate more controversy - and this 2022 is no different.

This is the sole event that honors the finest Western musicians, but it has also expanded to recognize the brilliance and influence of international performers.

The VMAs 2022 had a successful night, with Korean pop singers BTS, Blackpink, and Seventeen taking home multiple accolades.

Unfortunately, many fans believe that this year's event was staged.

Why Are the MTV Video Music Awards 2022 Rigged?

Several legendary songs have been released in recent months. Beyoncé, Charlie Puth with BTS' Jungkook, Doja Cat, Future and Drake, Lizzo, Latto, and Mariah Carey, Harry Styles, Nicki Minaj, and others were among the candidates for "Song of the Summer."

The winner, however, was revealed to be Jack Harlow, for his song "First Class."

However, BTS followers instantly slammed the ceremony for manipulating the event, questioning why he had won over some of today's biggest music legends.

The Song of the Summer category was added to the event in 2013 and is based on fan votes.

While there was no clear winner in the 2022 VMAs category, some fans believe it was unjust because there were many better songs than Harlow's.

This includes Jungkook's "Left and Right," which had a larger popularity than all other artists combined.

On Twitter, one user wondered who would think Harlow had more votes than the BTS member. "You mean Jack Harlow received the most votes out of everyone who nominated Nicki, Beyonce, and Doja?" one person questioned.

Some criticized the event for allowing "another white man" to win the title, despite the fact that he doesn't have a large audience like Jungkook, Nicki Minaj, Drake, or Harry Styles.
