Lil Nas X VMAs Elevator Encounter Divides Fans Online, Claiming It Sounded Like THIS

An online Reddit post trended online detailing an intimate encounter of a fan with Lil Nas X on the recently-concluded MTV Video Music Awards 2022 last Sunday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The original post is a fun and heart-warming moment between the fan and Montero, but some fans claimed that the encounter was fake, while others were particularly happy with it.

Lil Nas X took home three moonmans, which is almost half of the seven nominations he had.

A now-deleted Reddit post about a fan meeting Lil Nas X has gone viral after Pop Crave reposted it.

According to the original poster, she worked low-level in the entertainment industry and got tickets for the VMAs to see Nicki Minaj.

After Nicki Minaj's career-spanning medley hit, she revealed that he had decided to went home already, but as she rode the elevator, it landed her on a restricted floor, where she met Lil Nas X.

Reluctant to ask the GRAMMY-winning artist for direction for the exit, the poster worked up her guts to finally speak up, considering it's her birthday, and she really was a fan of the "Montero" hitmaker.

Awkwardly asking Lil Nas X for a photo, the rapper asked her first to tell him that he looked "classy" before a snap, to which she happily said so.

"It was really nice. We took a bunch of cute pics. I'm an unpaid intern and meet a lot of assholes in this industry. It was really nice to meet someone I admire and find out they're a genuinely nice person," the poster said.

Currently, the original Reddit post has already got over 150 comments and affirmations. It was posted on a mutually supportive "Off My Chest" thread where users can post deeply emotional things.

Lil Nas X VMAs Fan Encounter Fake?

After it was posted on Pop Crave, fans and detractors swarmed the comments section to give their thoughts about it.

While some remained positive and happy with the pure encounter, some were irked. "this sounds like a wattpad fanfic. "Yesss?" He asks, unsure of himself, blinking his hazel brown eyes," a netizen claimed.

Meanwhile, Lil Nas X quoted the actual Pop Crave tweet and jokingly refuted the encounter.

With Lil Nas X's recent tweets, fans are now at the divide of whether the actual post was just a fluff piece or an encounter that really happened.
