Bad news for Bauhaus fans! The band has decided to cancel their upcoming shows this year due to a shocking reason; was it because of Peter Murphy's current health status?

A representative for the group confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly, saying the band will no longer perform at their scheduled North American tour as the vocalist will enter a rehab facility.

The reason behind it is for him to "attend to his health and well-being."

As of this writing, the singer has not publicly commented on the matter and the representative did not give more details about his health.

Fans who already purchased tickets are encouraged to contact their providers in order to refund the passes.

They have also not announced whether the group would reschedule their tour.

Their current tour was supposed to begin on September 6 in Toronto. Their expected last scheduled show would be in Los Angeles, California, on September 29.

Peter Murphy's Health History

The English gothic rock band got disbanded in the early 80s, but they reunited in 2019 for a residency. However, they had to cancel their shows due to Murphy's previous health condition.

The vocalist had reportedly suffered a heart attack years ago, leading him to postpone his performances both with Bauhaus and his solo shows.

According to Rolling Stone at the time, the frontman was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital after suffering from shortness of breath that hindered him from performing.

A cardiologist confirmed that he had a heart attack and was treated for a "myocardial infarction."

"He had two stents placed in his right coronary artery and was started on medications to manage his heart condition," Dr. Jason Song said.

Fortunately for him, he made a full recovery from the heart attack; he took to Instagram to reveal the good news to fans at the time, saying he's glad to "stay up and running again."

His 2019 medical hurdle wasn't his first health woe as he previously rescheduled his San Fransico shows at The Chapel because of a "serious issue" with his vocal cords.

He was not allowed to use his voice for a while as he continued to recover.

In 2010, he also canceled his appearances on a 100-date tour with Brendan Perry after suffering from health issues. His team also did not specify what medical problems he was having.
