It has been a while since Selena Gomez released any new music and now she returns with Rema for "Calm Down."

The music video premiered on Sept. 7, and it follows the "Rare" singer and the Nigerian rapper in a house-like set as they exchange verses.

The mid-tempo but catchy beat starts off with Rema's part, "Baby, calm down, calm down / Girl, this your body put in my heart for lockdown, for lockdown, oh, lockdown / Girl, you sweet like Fanta, ooh, Fanta, ooh / If I tell you say, 'I love you,' you no dey form yanga, oh, oh, yanga, oh."

The two dance and sway to the beat in the colorful set, and Gomez's visuals are stunning, even though she is just wearing a sleeveless pantsuit, showing off her toned and tanned skin.

The 30-year-old singer begins her part of the song with "Yeah, I know I look shy but for you I get down, oh, woah / And my hips make you cry when I'm moving around you / Do it once, do it twice / I push back, you hold me tight / Get a taste for a night."

And she continues the song into the chorus, where the set changes. As Gomez sings, "Baby show me you can calm down, calm down

Dance with me and take the lead now, lead now / Got you so high that you can't come down, come down / Don't you ask, you know you're allowed, allowed / When it's you I can't say no / Baby, give me / You got me like."

The set morphs from a colorful living room to what looks like a stark white garage, with Rema sitting in the car, and Gomez dancing in a denim top.

The set changes once again, showing the two in what looks like a set draped in blankets, sort of like a childhood fort reimagined.

Her most recent album, "Rare," was released in 2020, while

Just as Gomez said at the beginning of the video, it was a complete vibe. The mid-tempo song suited the chill and relaxed music video, depicting an intimate yet adorable dynamic between the two.

The newly released music video is already catching everyone's attention, as it shot up, claiming its spot as the number one trending music video in YouTube in less than a day.

Fans are ecstatic with Gomez's return, with a fan tweeting: "How can I calm down? It's [Selena Gomez] we're talkin' about."

What Took So Long?

Selenators, Gomez's fans, have been wildly excited about this collaboration, as it marks the singer's return to the music scene.

She has been reportedly busy with other projects such as "Selena + Chef," where she cooks as a professional chef accompanies and teaches her the recipes.

It seems that the "Lose You To Love Me" singer has been spending her days cooking and enjoying the gorgeous Malibu beaches, as it is where the set of her show is located.

Her show "Only Murders in the Building" just finished up last month, and has been nominated Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series.

She has released some music in the past few years, with "Rare" in 2020 and "Revelación" in 2021. However, Billboard noted that Gomez is officially back in the recording studio, and is working on new music.
