Over the past few days, Twitter was at a hot debate about whether Harry Styles actually spit on his co-star Chris Pine's lap moments during the premiere of their film "Don't Worry Darling."

Although the allegations have already been turned down, many are still believing that Styles did do it.

Comes to the rescue is his former manager, Simon Cowell who sang praises on the new music and fashion megastar.

Did Harry Styles Spit on Chris Pine?

According to Billboard, no. Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine at the premiere of "Don't Worry Darling" at the Venice International Film Festival.

A circulating video has taken over social media earlier this week after Styles was seen approaching his seat beside Chris Pine, in which he lodged his head towards the "Star Trek" actor and stopped, seemingly spitting on his lap.

Looking at it for the first time, netizens were also shocked as Pine's facial expression also went with it. However, another angle of the video gives a clearer picture of the scenario - which clearly shows he did not do it.

"[It is] the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation. Just to be clear, Harry Styles did NOT spit on Chris Pine ... there is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist," Chris Pine's representative told the publication.

Harry also jokingly alluded to the issue during his concert at Madison Square Garden after the Venice premiere, saying that he "popped very quickly" to Venice to spit on Pine's lap, prompting the crowd to erupt in laughter and cheer.

Meanwhile, while others seemed to be still thinking that Styles actually did it, Simon Cowell came to defend the former One Direction star.

Simon Cowell Crushes 'Spitgate'

In a recent interview at Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Simon Cowell talked about the allegations that Harry Styles had spat on Chris Pine at the premiere.

For the "America's Got Talent" judge, that was not something that Harry Styles would do.

"We all do that, you know when you gob on someone by accident. He definitely, definitely wouldn't do that - that's not Harry," Cowell confirmed.

Meanwhile, Cowell is preparing for the finale of "America's Got Talent" Season 17 with Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel on September 13.
