Many viewers of Saturday's episode of "The Voice" were moved to tears by Olly Murs's touching tribute to his late friend Caroline Flack.

The 38-year-old instructor stunned viewers with his performance of Sweet Caroline in memory of the 40-year-old host who tragically committed suicide in February 2020.  

Event goers who were "pushed over the edge" by the moving performance tweeted their reactions.

 

After participating in The X Factor in 2009, Olly co-hosted The Xtra Factor on ITV2 with Caroline from 2011 to 2012, and the two then co-hosted the main program together in 2015. Caroline made her vows in February of 2020 after a concerned friend who had been living with her left her alone in her London apartment to go shopping.

A producer's friend who tried to reenter the flat found that she had been locked out. As a result, Ian, Caroline's father, was able to gain entry to the flat and find his daughter's body. Caroline felt "alone" and "unable to see a way out," as her friends put it; she was suffering from mental illness and taking antidepressants before to her death.

Olly Murs has recently spoken out about his friend Caroline Flack's suicide. The Essex singer told Heart Bingo that he still has trouble accepting her death, but that he is comforted by the thought that she is "in a better place now."

Murs is making a concerted effort to release new music despite his ongoing grief. Singer Olly Murs showed off his chiseled new look and teased the upcoming release of his seventh studio album.

A video of the 38-year-old Witham native shouting and flexing his pectoral muscles went viral on Instagram, where he has 4.1 million followers. The performer, who came in second place on the 2009 season of "The X Factor" behind Joe McElderry, hasn't dropped any new music since 2018's "You Know I Know." Screaming to the tune of "Pride in the Saiyan I am, the great prince of the greatest warrior species!" by Alien Species,

Olly took the stage in nothing but a pair of blue Nike shorts and yellow sneakers. Ex-Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison was among the celebrities who praised Olly after the news because of his impressive body.
