Taylor Swift just announced that the back covers of her upcoming "Midnighst" album make a clock if formed together.

While the move seemed to be creative and suggested a more complex understanding of her upcoming release, the idea does not sit well with other netizens.

Earlier this week, Taylor also released another alternative cover and vinyl design for "Midnights," sold exclusively along with 3 additional tracks.

Taylor Swift Announces New Album 'Midnights' Back Cover Collectible

In a TikTok posted yesterday, GRAMMY-winning singer Taylor Swift surprised her loyal fanbase with yet another hint on what they would expect on her upcoming album, literally.

The update was not about her highly-awaited songs, but more about the actual album cover. Earlier this month, Taylor released three more different album arts, all in different colors and holding different photos of hers.

With "Midnights'" actual cover art totaling to 4, Taylor revealed through the TikTok video that if it was flipped back and placed together in a square, it would make out a clock.

On Tiktok, fans were visibly surprised and amazed with how the album is now turned into a rare collectible.

"that's one way to get me to buy every single variant," a fan commented.

"when Taylor says 'meet me at midnight,' she MEANS IT. and now there's a clock so you can't miss it," another pointed out.

However, that was not the same reception that people on Twitter had about the new revelation.

Taylor Swift Called Out For Being 'Desperate' After Introducing New 'Clock' Album Back Cover

While some fans praised Taylor Swift for being a "creative genius," some were not convinced and amused with how she sells the album so much on social media.

Taylor Swift shocked everyone as she dropped the bombshell announcement during the 2022 MTV VMAs last August 28, saying that her album, "Midnights" will drop on October 21.

Days after, she released the 3 other alternative album covers, and very recently the Lavender edition which is exclusively sold on Target that contained three more bonus tracks.

Netizens believe that Taylor might be going too far already with the album's promotion.

"This feels like a scam to get sales, and a desperate one for that matter; guess that jet is not gonna fuel itself up, huh... At the very least it's not 9 versions of the same coma-inducing elevator music," a netizen quipped.

"She better at least sells 3 mill first week since her fans where laughing at adele selling 839k first week with only 1 version," someone said on Twitter.

As of this writing, the TikTok video has already garnered more than 5 million views since she posted this midnight.
