Charlie Puth claims that his most recent album is his most "personal" to date. A track called "Smells Like Me" shows as early as now what the fans are in for.
The 30-year-old singer's third album, "Charlie," is scheduled for release in October 2022, and he has revealed that, despite its title, it is not a concept album. He knows it sounds "cliche" for artists to say an album feels personal to them, but this is truly what he feels about his newest project.
He revealed that the album is dearest to his heart due to the amount of "personality" he has infused into it. He added that before this album, he has never had a whole body of work that had his personality with a song tied to it."
The "Attention" hitmaker, who is presently believed to be single but previously dated the likes of model Charlotte Lawrence and pop star Selena Gomez, can be seen posing against a white backdrop with music notes in the background and stated that the artwork "speaks for itself."
He stated to Billboard that he has tracks with certain titles designed to make his fans go certain places about him. These songs include those entitled "Smells Like Me" and "There's a First Time for Everything."
"I want your brain to go into a million places when you read these titles but I also want people to be familiar with them like they've heard them before because they have heard them before," he stated.
"Charlie" is dropping on October 7.

"Smells Like Me," actually dropped earlier this month, wherein one of the lines went like this "I hope your jacket smells like me." it was clear that she was singing about a girl he liked but could not make a relationship with, work.
Puth even disclosed on Twitter that the song was inspired by a real-life relationship. Apart from thanking her, he revealed that he never imagined that suffering might transform into musical closure.
Fans have patiently awaited the release of this new album, which Puth acknowledged with a video montage of fan tweets inquiring about its status. it will be Puth's third studio album after Voicenotes in 2018. He has thus far released three singles, including "Left And Right," "Light Switch," and "That's Hilarious."
