Lil Nas X was named the "President of League of Legends," and as the president, he gets to produce an anthem and music video for the annual Worlds tournament.

"Star Walkin" was released on Sept. 22, and League Of Legends fans and players are in for a treat-the music video is lined with easter eggs.

The animated video shows the city of San Francisco, where the World's finals tournament will take place. It follows the different League Of Legends pro players with their massive mechs and powers throughout the city, as they prepare to battle it out.

Exceeded Expectations

Nas announced his collaboration with the online game's developer Riot Games a week ago. He revealed to fans that the song was entitled "Star Walkin," and it will be performed live at the League Of Legends Worlds Finals.

The 23-year-old rapper shared that he decided to do the collaboration to shake things up a little, and "try something new."

"I've left my mark on pop culture in so many ways, and now it's time to take on the world of gaming," he said.

With the release of the highly-anticipated music video, Riot Games' global head of creatives expressed his excitement, "Lil Nas X tapped into our vision and took it to the next level."

"The Worlds anthem comes with high expectations. It needs to inspire our pros, hype our fans, and prepare a live stadium audience of thousands - and a broadcast of millions - for the ultimate competitive showdown. And I can confidently say 'Star Walkin' did just that."

Nas went all the way with the collaboration, as he handled several aspects of the project himself. The new anthem was written by Nas, as well as Omer Fedi, Henry Walter, and Atia Boggs. It was also produced by Nas and Omer Fedi with Cirkut.

The song starts with "Don't ever say it's over if I'm breathing / Racing to the moonlight and I'm speeding / I'm headed to the stars, ready to go far / I'm star walkin'."

Aside from the musical aspect of the collaboration, the rapper also had a hand in designing a skin for an upcoming League of Legends champion, which will be unlocked by players in the game on Nov. 3 until 14.

As promised

Prior to the drop of the anthem, League Of Legends shared a video of Nas roaming their office, making "executive" decisions. He declared, "I will be the greatest president of League of Legends, of all time,"

"Also I'm going to make the best Worlds anthem of all time and put on the biggest, coolest, sexiest Worlds in the history of all Worlds! 'Star Walkin' is the only song anyone is allowed to listen to from now on."

The dedication the rapper put into the collaboration was not missed by Riot Games or fans.

The global head of League esports at Riot Games, Naz Aletaha, was "blown away" by his "vision, passion, and undeniable style."
