Kid Cudi is gearing up for the release of his upcoming album "Entergalactic" but it seems like it would be his final album as revealed in a recent interview; is he retiring from the music industry?

Speaking to Apple Music Beats 1 with Zane Lowe, the 38-year-old rapper implied that he's going to venture out into doing other things outside music, saying, "The Kid Cudi stuff, I think I want to put it on the back burner and chill out with that."

Regarding his music catalog, the musician said he's "closing the chapter on Kid Cudi" after the release of his upcoming record.

His desire to quit making music and stop performing live inspired "Entergalactic" as he wanted to have a different approach to the songs he was producing because he was "bored" of dropping traditional releases. (via Complex)

Speaking about his experience in the music industry, the rapper noted that he started out as someone who wanted to do "something epic and different" and now that he already accomplished that, there are more desires that he wanted to pursue.

Kid Cudi also clarified that he doesn't see himself never making music as he's always in the studio making something, however, "as far as getting in the studio and working on an album, and then going and touring it, I just don't have it in me."

Why Is Kid Cudi Stopping Music?

The outlet noted that Cudi has been doing other stuff outside of music like acting, however, it's not his number one priority at the moment as there are more things that he wanted to invest his time into.

The rapper noted that he wants to be with his daughter more often and explained that it's good to spend time with her as she grows up because their relationship is "super tight" and it's what he always dreamed of.

Regarding the future of his career, Cudi said he wanted to enter the entertainment business by writing for TV shows and films.

He's also interested in producing more content and projects under Mad Solar Productions, one of the companies involved in the movies "X" and "Pearl."

Kid Cudi has a lot of things under his belt over the next few months as he's going to debut his clothing line at the Paris Fashion Week on January as well as dropping his directorial debut "Teddy."
