The drama started when City Girls' rapper JT congratulated GloRilla for the success of her recently released song "Tomorrow 2," featuring Cardi B.

A fan tweeted about how GloRilla topped charts with "Tomorrow 2," comparing her to other rappers, namely JT, Akbar V, and Katie Got Bandz.

JT quote-tweeted it, saying it was not the case, and that she is happy for GloRilla's success. She congratulated the rapper, but noticeably left Cardi's name out of her Tweet, which reads: "I'm not like that at all I been doing remixes & never got credited on a chart but they get sung word for word and help push the original songs as intended unlike y'all well I can't even say y'all cause you don't rap, you tweet! congratulations Glo & stream FMF remix and queenmix. [sic]"

According to reports, the back and forth between the two rappers was supposed to be kept in the direct messages (DMs), however, Cardi decided to let everyone in on the drama.

Cardi tweeted: "Lapdog." and "Go fetch," which was not missed by the City Girls member because she called out the 29-year-old rapper, "Cardi you go fetch a real talent! We DM'ing why you come back here to put on a show for these kids? [sic]"

After that, the exchange became a spectacle for fans, as Cardi accused JT of hiring a ghostwriter, "So wait, me and you talking in the DM woman to woman, but YOU take it to your timeline and throw shots calling me a bully and a wiener... Why you playing dumb? And YOU talking about a talent?! ha! You forgot P tried to put me on wit your writer? [sic]"

JT decided to clear her name and address the ghostwriting allegations, "No you wanted our written! For our hooks for our sound cause you clearly have none! Ask any writer! I write my own shit!!! You know this."

Eventually, Cardi had enough of the back and forth, because she bid fans and spectators goodbye, returning to their point of contention, being that their exchange was supposed to be done all through the DMs, "Matter fact, I'm not even doing this on the timeline! It's becoming real repetitive for doggy treats. [sic]"

In addition to their online cat fight, JT also claimed that she is not a "slave" to the charts, as fans kept pointing out that Cardi's songs are chart-toppers.

Despite the ugly exchange, both rappers have worked together in the past. In 2019, they collaborated on "Twerk," which is a song off City Girls' "Girl Code" EP.

However, after their exchange, fans might not see another collaboration any time soon.
