Imagine Dragons was supposed to tour South America in the coming weeks, but an unfortunate tragedy hit the band, specifically their vocalist, Dan Reynolds.

Apparently, this postponement marks a first for the rock band, as they had never experienced canceling any tour, and canceled shows were even very seldom.

In an Instagram statement that the band posted recently, Imagine Dragons was very apologetic to their South American fans.

"In our 12 years as a band, we've never had to cancel a tour (and could count the number of shows on one hand)," they continued. "We hope you guys know how hard it is for us to postpone these dates, and we plan to make it up to you soon," the statement reads.

The band attributed the postponement because of the current health condition of their vocalist and frontman, Dan Reynolds.

Turns out, during the last leg of the Imagine Dragons "Mercury" World Tour 2022, Reynolds was suffering from a vocal nodule. Now, his vocal cords have hemorrhaged, and the nodule has become serious enough that it would be in danger if he continues to perform. If the nodule ruptured, it would cost Reynolds his career as it would "irreparably harm" his voice.

"We just can't give you the show you expect and deserve right now," they wrote. We will keep everyone updated as we figure out new dates, and we are so sorry for those who made travel and other plans to see us," the band apologized.

Ryan's vocals aren't the only thing that puts him in danger. Billboard also reported that the vocalist is "unexpectedly dealing" with a "fairly serious" tear in the LCL (lateral collateral ligament) on his knee. To keep it from further impacting the vocalist, he would be required to use a brace and undergo rigorous and extensive physical therapy.

As of this writing, it was not specified how much time Reynolds would need in order to fully recover from the two ailments.

New schedules aren't posted yet but Imagine Dragons, through the statement, assured that those who cannot make it on the supposed schedule would be refunded for their tickets.

Dan Reynolds, on the other hand, has not posted an official statement or response to the well-wishes that were poured out on the band's official announcement.
