Luke Bryan recently performed in Jacksonville, Florida, on Friday and many fans weren't happy with the move he made during the show as online users expressed their dismay on Twitter; what happened?

According to American Songwriter, the country crooner brought out Governor Ron DeSantis in the middle of his show at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena over the weekend.

The singer briefly stopped the show to address the crowd, saying they were going to have fun and raise money for the state of Florida before introducing the politician on stage.

Concertgoers immediately filled the room with cheers and applause and some fans can be heard screaming "Hell, yeah!"

DeSantis proceeded to take the stage wearing a blue vest. He also gave out hats to the crowd, which the outlet suggests he was campaigning for re-election.

The politician then took to his official Twitter account by sharing photos from the concert along with the caption "Thanks for letting me crash the party last night, @lukebryan!"

However, not everyone was pleased with the singer's latest move as he was criticized online.

Luke Bryan Defends His Actions After Receiving Backlash

Luke Bryan finally broke his silence to defend his actions at his recent concert, saying he doesn't typically respond to backlash on social media, but he's here to explain.

Beginning his statement, which was posted on Twitter, the country singer said DeSantis is a "very polarizing figure" but he considered his request to come to his concert to raise awareness and help victims of a natural disaster.

According to Fox News, Florida was heavily-affected by Hurricane Ian in September. 132 people died due to the natural calamity.

The singer defended himself, saying he stayed out of politics most of his career because he knew that the public would "chatter about" him.

However, he considered DeSantis' appearance as important because he wanted to raise awareness for the state where people have been good to him and it felt right.

"This is all I am saying about this. I'll be outdoors with my boys. Enjoy your Sunday. Love y'all," he concluded his post.

To support the victims of the hurricanes, Bryan added "Text: disaster to 20222."

As of this writing, DeSantis has not publicly commented on the matter.
