This afternoon's production of one of Broadway's newest shows, KPOP, has been canceled.

K-pop seems to be everywhere now. On ever music station, top song list, talent competition– everywhere. Now, K-pop has made its way to a previously unexplored venue for this specific genre of music: Broadway. A show, titled KPOP, which opperates largely as a celebration to K-pop music, has been in previews at Circle in the Square Theatre. The show will officially open on November 20th of this year.

Unfortunately, it was announced today that this afternoon's show has been canceled.

In an Instagram post put out earlier today, the show revealed the information and apologized to current ticket holders. The post read:

"Today's matinee performance of KPOP on Wednesday, November 2 has been canceled. This evening's performance will proceed as planned at 8pm on Wednesday, November 2. We apologize for the inconveninece. Please reach out to your point of purchase with any questions regarding refunds or exchanges."

The reason for canceling this afternoon's performance was not listed in the post. We are glad to know that it will be back up on its feet for the evening show, and we hope that everyone involved in the production is okay. The show touts an incredible cast. According to an interview on Playbill, the show features:

"K-pop singer Luna leads the cast as MwE, and is joined by Marina Kondo, Joshua Lee, Lina Rose Lee, Dear Evan Hansen star Zachary Noah Piser and Hamilton's Eddy Lee as well as Julia Abueva, Major Curda, Jinwoo Jung, Jiho Kang, Amy Keum, James Kho, Jully Lee, Timothy H. From the K-pop world, Spica and Keembo's Bo Hyung Kim, Miss A's Min Young Lee, and U-KISS' Kevin Woo also star in the show which features 19 company members making Broadway debuts."

We can't wait for the official opening on KPOP at Circle in the Square on November 20th.
