Despite their controversial album rollout, Drake and 21 Savage's "Her Loss" has dethroned Taylor Swift on her supposed three-week reign at the Billboard 200 albums chart.

"Her Loss" is Drake's 12th chart topper in the coveted albums chart. As for 21 Savage, the project is his 3rd No. 1 album in total, and the second collaborative album so far to have reached this feat.

Based on the actual numbers gathered by Billboard via Luminate, "Her Loss" reaped a total of 404,000 album equivalent units on its debut week, nearly double of Drake's latest dance project, "Honestly, Nevermind," which also debuted No. 1 earlier this year. The album contained the first collab that he and 21 Savage had this year, "Jimmy Cooks," which seemingly references "Her Loss" in its music video.

But as how Variety puts it, "Her Loss" fell short of eclipsing Drake's "Certified Lover Boy," which debuted at No. 1 last year with a staggering 613,000 album equivalent units.

'Her Loss' Billboard Debut Week

According to the numbers crunched by Luminate, "Her Loss" has generated 319,000 streaming equivalent units, tallying almost 514 million streams, making its debut week the fourth-largest streaming week for an album ever.

The first and second-place takers? Drake's "Scorpion" and "Certified Lover Boy," Swift's "Midnights" trails "Her Loss" at the fourth.

Drake is now the third artist in the chart's history to have had the most No. 1 albums so far with 12, logging behind Jay-Z who has 14, and The Beatles who has 19. Before "Her Loss," Drake is tied with Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, and Barbra Streisand with 11.

It is now also the third-biggest opening week this 2022, following Harry Styles' "Harry's House" with 521,000 units, and Swift's 1.571 units.

Taylor Swift's record-breaking "Midnights" was already dethroned after two weeks at the summit. The project has dipped to No. 2 with 299,000 equivalent album units. But despite the descent, the combined units of Top 3 to Top 9 of the Billboard 200 charts this year, is still lesser than Swift's third-week album sales.

After the successful and enormous rollout of "Midnights," Taylor Swift is set to embark on a 52-date tour across the United States, "The Eras" tour.

Swift, on the other hand, is the biggest artist of the night at the MTV European Music Awards 2022 with four fan-voted awards - Best Video, Best Artist, Best Pop, and Best Longform Video.
