JoJo Siwa opened up about how Elton John changed her life forever.
Amid John's final tour, Siwa took her time to shower her friend with heartfelt messages and compliments after the music icon became part of her life. She told in a new interview with E! News in an interview at the Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium concert that the singer called her when she came out.
Per the 19-year-old singer, she met John for the first time at one of his concerts when she was 15. That 45-minute conversation reportedly changed her life.
She did not reveal what they talked about at that time, but Siwa noted that she had another heartfelt conversation with him in January 2021 after she came out.
According to Siwa, the "Rocket Man" hitmaker called her to give his support as she embraced her identity. John also sent her a video in which he congratulated her for coming out.
"At 17, you were able to do something that took people of my generation decades to do. Not only are you living your truth, you're a shining example to young people the world over and their families, by showing that love is love and people are people and that is that," John said in the video, as quoted by PEOPLE.
John also applauded her for her fantastic style, leaving her shocked and excited at the same time.
Siwa then shared the clip on her Instagram account and revealed that she received it from the man she had looked up to for years. She added that John and other LGBTQ stars helped her discover and accept her identity.
How JoJo Siwa Came Out as Gay
The then-17-year-old YouTube personality admitted she was gay through a TikTok video in which she danced to Lady Gaga's 2011 hit song, "Born This Way." The track has been regarded as an LGBTQ anthem.
The clip immediately garnered millions of views and thousands of comments from celebrities and fans. Even influencers like Bretman Rock, James Charles, and Nikkie de Jager praised and congratulated her.

Siwa also received a shirt from her cousin which has the text "Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever."
A few months after coming out, Siwa told PEOPLE that she became the happiest human alive when she was able to introduce her true self to the world. She started dating women openly since then, including Kylie Prew.
