Trey Songz has been the subject of much controversy in recent times and people almost forgot he is an R&B singer and rapper, but what has he really been up to?

The now-38-year-old rose to prominence in the early 2000s after the release of his debut album "I Gotta Make It."

He has since released several albums. He released his sophomore album "Trey Day" in 2007, followed by "Ready" in 2009, "Passion, Pain & Pleasure" in 2010, "Chapter V," in 2012 "Trigga." in 2015, and his most recent album "Back Home" in 2020.

While he is now relatively inactive in making music, he has reportedly amassed a net worth of $12 million.

Assault Charges

Songz's first brush with the law happened in December 2016 when he was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, reports say.

In 2017, Keke Palmer accused the singer of putting her in his music video for "Pick Up The Phone" without her permission.

She took to Twitter and revealed what happened behind the scenes, "After you found me in a closet hiding because I was so afraid of anymore conflict.

"Literally my last option was to hide because you all would not listen when I said I did not want to be in the video the first time."

She also claimed that he used "sexual intimidation" and bribed her with food and drinks.

While Palmer did not press charges against the singer, she was the one who brought light to his questionable behavior and actions against women.

An unnamed woman filed a lawsuit against Songz earlier this year. She accused him of sexually assaulting her during a house party in 2016. According to Complex, the $20 million lawsuit was later formally dismissed.

In 2018, he was accused and sued for assaulting a woman in a nightclub in Miami, NBC News reported.

As recent as late October, Songz yet again graced the headlines following accusations of him assaulting another woman. According to reports, the singer beat the unnamed woman and dragged her by her hair at a bowling alley in New York City.

She filed a police report against him, and authorities noted that she had visible minor injuries to her person. Songz denied the assault, and as of this writing, the police are still investigating the case.
