  • Ferguson Protesters Riot, Loot, Set Fires as Grand Jury Does Not Indict Darren Wilson in Michael Brown's Death

The worst-case scenario is what has unfolded in Ferguson, Missouri, after a 12-person grand jury failed to indict officer Darren Wilson on any criminal charges in the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in August. While Brown's family pled for peaceful protests, that was not what several black militia groups, such as the RgB Black Rebels, had in mind. Police in riot gear failed to control protestors, according to AOL, who went from throwing rocks to torching several of their own local businesses in just a few hours last night, Nov. 24. Prosecuting attorney Bob McCulloch said the jury met on 25 separate days over the course of three months, hearing more than 70 hours of testimony from about 60 witnesses, including three medical examiners and experts on blood, toxicology and firearms. In the end, they ultimately believed Wilson's account of what had occurred between him and Brown. It is also important to note that the physical evidence also guided the jurors in making their final decision. Many seemed to feel that McCulloch completely dropped the ball in his defiant delivery of the grand jury's decision. He was in a position to attempt to unite both sides by his tone and empathy for the loss of Brown's life and how it has crushed the teen's family. Instead, McCulloch seemed to inflame protestors even more and the end result was disastrous, according to Yahoo!
  • Dwight Howard Under Investigation for Child Abuse, Admits Beating Son with Belt Buckle

It looked for a moment like NBA star Dwight Howard was going to be off the hook in a child abuse investigation that began in Florida. Howard's ex, Royce Reed, accused him of beating their 6-year-old son Braylon, with a belt buckle, something that was actually substantiated after a full exam by the Department of Children and Families. Dr. Kesler said that abrasions on the child were consistent with being struck repeatedly with a belt buckle, and Howard himself confirmed he had punished his son in that manner. According to Howard, it was how he was punished as a kid and had no idea it was wrong. Even after all this, Florida closed up its investigation, saying there was not enough credible proof. It looked like Howard was cleared — at least until yesterday. According to a new TMZ report, Braylon's injuries actually occurred in Georgia and the Cobb County Police Department had been asking for the file on this case for months, with no cooperation. After TMZ actually posted Florida DCF's findings, it gave Cobb County more leverage and the file ended up in their hands within a few hours.

Police were called and Berg was booked on a felony charge for obstructing her airway. • Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson Admits To Smoking Marijuana Before Drug Test, Arrest Expected

The NFL player is currently free on $15,000 bond and after failing the test he is fully expected to be re-arrested on a drug charge.
