From Nicki Minaj and Latto's Grammy snub battle to Megan Thee Stallion's beef with Drake, DaBaby, and Tory Lanez, 2022 is the year of social media beefs between rappers. Dj Akademiks and Charlamgage Tha God however said that this is not a thing to fret over - in fact, it should mean the rap scene becoming more colorful, since there would so many material to use for new rap songs. Unfortunately, it is not happening.
Will Megan Thee Stallion follow ADJ Akademiks and Charlamgage Tha God's recommendations, though?
These two of hip hop's most influential figures believe there is a better way that just letting feuds go back and forth in social media. DJ Akademiks and Charlamgage Tha God are not impressed with the lack of reaction recordings from the musicians, and they are not afraid to say so!!
Ak was recently a guest on VladTV, where he expressed sympathy for Megan and the upcoming shooting trial against Tory, but reprimanded her for not responding to personal attack raps, especially considering she is a critically regarded rapper.
Drake questioned the veracity of Meg's allegations against Tory on his "Her Loss" album, and DaBaby revealed a rumored sexual encounter with her on his most recent release. Megan has been quick to defend her identity on Twitter throughout the year, but Ak believes she should respond with an actual sick, rap song.
This week on "The Breakfast Club," Charlamagne asked Nicki Minaj, Latto, and City Girls' JT why they didn't at least unleash a diss album to put the record straight when their names were trending. Nas and 21 Savage recently used music to resolve their issue following a miscommunication in the Clubhouse, which seems like the appropriate resolution.
Megan The Stallion is quite busy these days though. The "Plan B" rapper, age 27, was the first Black woman to ever be included on the Forbes 30 Under 30 cover. Megan disclosed in an accompanying interview that her recent album Traumazine's deeply personal lyrics made her "nervous." She revealed that this record felt really intimate to her.
This is the first time she has ever talked about how she feel or what she is going through, so writing a lot of these songs made her nervous to perform. In August, Megan released Traumazine, her second studio album, which features hits like "Anxiety," in which she discusses how she copes with stressful situations, including the loss of her mother.
