Ava Max visited The Mercedes-Benz Interview Lounge to discuss her upcoming world tour and new album.

The unveiling of her new album, "Diamonds and Dancefloors," was one of her favorite highlights of the year.

Ava Max stated that she was "very, extremely" ecstatic about the announcement and that making the music video was a fantastic experience. Her new album will be published in 2023, and she has stated that the songs are her favorites that she has ever recorded. It's more mid-tempo and a little slower than what her fans are accustomed to hearing, according to Ava Max.

Ava Max commented that in case this happens, fans will be in for a treat. "I feel like people haven't seen that side of me," she explained.  One can recall how upbeat her hits are, from "Sweet But Psycho" to "So Am I."

When entering the studio to record the album, she took a more "cool" approach, focusing on calming herself down in order to be in the appropriate headspace for these tracks. Ava Max is looking forward to spending the upcoming holiday with her family and relaxing, since she rarely has the opportunity to do so during her hectic year. Ava Max also stated that she is excited to launch her own headlining tour in 2023, which will be a new experience for her.

She went to Los Angeles at the age of 14 for a shot at celebrity but was urged to return when she was older, so she returned to South Carolina. At age 17, she and her brother returned to Los Angeles without prospects or contacts.

She made $20 a week working at Hollister and at a mall kiosk straightening people's hair. Leveling up meant intensive songwriting training. When she completed a song that Cirkut liked, he instructed her to compose one hundred more. Then followed her biggest song to date, "Sweet but Psycho," which topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Poland, and Slovenia.

In 2018, when that song was released, Ava's main influence was Mariah Carey, whom she grew up idolizing and who has an identical birthmark (below and left of the belly button). Following the release of that album, she collaborated with Dutch DJ Tisto on "The Motto," a song that reflects a shift in her creative process.
