Wynonna Judd is feeling the weight of responsibilities after Naomi Judd's sudden and tragic death.

Months have already passed since Naomi died, and left the world for good. While her family still tries to live their lives normally without the matriarch, Wynonna spoke candidly about how difficult it is to celebrate holidays without her.

Speaking with grief specialist/expert and founder of grief.com, David Kessler, the 58-year-old country singer, revealed her struggles during the family's Thanksgiving dinner as she had to step up and become the matriarch of her loved ones.

"Of course, that [calm] lasted for all of 38 minutes, and then I went into a panic. Because I realized something, and that is that I'm now the matriarch. And I think the pressure of that alone was like, 'Oh my gosh, my mom isn't here this year. And I made her favorite foods, and I did it really well,'" she said.

Wynonna revealed that the pressure began to soar after her guests arrived. To ease her feelings, she took a breather in the bathroom before continuing with the celebration.

Although she successfully managed the event without her mother, she noted that they celebrated the Thanksgiving dinner on an alternative day. By doing so, she allowed herself to see it as a typical day instead of a national holiday.

On Thanksgiving day, she chose to wear her pajamas and browse the family's old scrapbooks instead.

Wynonna Judd Admits She's Still in Grief Journey

After the Thanksgiving dinner, Wynonna said she is still learning how to be more honest with her family about her grief journey.

For instance, she felt selfish about not attending Larry Strickland's Christmas party since she found the event too painful.

Before her recent interview, she also had an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE and told the news outlet that her tour played a huge part in her healing process. At that time, she said that she is pretty tough after all the things that happened but still had a tender side.

Just like what she recently said, Wynonna divulged that her grief remains unpredictable.

She noted how she begins to weep suddenly and then feels okay afterward. She cries even more when she sees her granddaughter. Although she cries a lot, even months after her mother's death, she made it clear that her emotions are not signs of weakness.
