Missy Elliott achieved one of the biggest honors of her music career this year, getting her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to seal her name as one of the most legendary musicians of all time. More recently, the rapper predicted Lizzo's career, saying she will be in the same position as her in the future.

In an essay for Entertainment Weekly's Entertainers of the Year 2022, the hip-hop artist praised the pop star for her contribution to the industry as well as predicted her future.

Missy Elliott first recalled her first time meeting Lizzo in the studio, saying she immediately knew she was amazing.

During that time, the "Juice" hitmaker went into the booth and started singing. The rap legend saw herself in her when she started her music career.

"I actually told her, 'You remind me so much of myself.' I immediately connected with her," she wrote. (via Billboard)

Later in the essay, the rap icon praised the pop star for her vast talent as she could dance, rap, and sing. She also applauded her latest album "Special," saying she personally loved it and it had an amazing story to share to her fans.

"You put it on and you're going to learn self-love, you're going to love your friends, and you're going to feel like a bad b****," she added.

Regarding the sound of the album, Missy Elliott described it as a mixture of disco and "Grease" with hip-hop.

Speaking about Lizzo's years to come, the "Work It" hitmaker believes she has a bright future ahead of her as she believes that the musician is "going to be deemed legendary" because she will always work, sell out every time, and will be great at doing anything she wants.

Lizzo is a Legend in the Making

It appears that Lizzo's steps toward becoming a legendary artist have already begun as she scored her second number-one single this year with the song "About Damn Time."

Her latest release, "Special," became historic as she became the highest-charting female artist of the year.

Regarding her awards, the flutist has five Grammys under her belt as well as an Emmy for Outstanding Competition Program for her series "Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls."

Both awards made her halfway through achieving the coveted EGOT status.
