Many fans are looking forward to watching Billy Joel for the final time this year as he was initially scheduled to perform in New York City for his last show. Unfortunately, the singer was forced to cancel his concert due to his health condition; what happened?

Taking to his social media accounts, the 73-year-old musician revealed that his doctors ordered him to conserve his voice due to a "viral infection."

"I must postpone my Monday, December 19th concert at Madison Square Garden to June," the singer wrote.

He then offered an apology to those who were anticipating him, saying he was sorry for the last-minute announcement. Although he was hoping to be "closer to a full recovery" by his show, it didn't happen as he was still suffering from the illness.

Joel is now looking forward to seeing his fans next year and his show has been officially re-scheduled.
