Hayley Williams's birthday is today!

The lead singer of Paramore, Hayley Willaims is celebrating her 34th birthday today. The iconic pop-punk/alt-rock singer's sound has defined a generation. From the unforgettable, fast moving "Misery Business" to the songs that make us immediately think of the Twilight love triangle, Hayley Williams has really added her own special flavor to the music world.

As is the case with many people who have found themselves squarely placed in the limelight for years, not much is known about the artist herself. While her fame has only increased, knowledge of where the singer came from or what led her to where she is today is unknown by many.

What better day to get to know the star a little better than on her birthday. In order to celebrate the sensations special day, here are a few fun facts you may not have known about Hayley Williams.

Paramore started as after-school jam sessions.

The iconic band actually started out when its members were in high school. Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, Zac Farro, Jeremy Davis, and Jason Bynum would meet up in their perspective garages and basements after school. In 2004, most of the band members were still under the age of 18. Therefore, Williams's parents would drive them to a variety of their gigs.

Of course, since the band's noteworthy beginnings, some of the band members have shifted. Now Paramore is made up of Hayley Williams, Zac Farro, and Taylor York. York joined the band as their rhythm guitarist in 2007. The addition of this member leads us nicely into our next fun fact:

The two have been very quiet about their personal lives, and their romantic relationship with each other was not confirmed until this past September. However, fans have been speculating about a romance between the two since 2018 when followers of the band started noticing similarities on the couple's respective Instagram pages.

While they did not start their romance until they were decidedly into adulthood, the two actually met when they were children. Williams was 13 and York was 12 when they met. Shortly after Williams joined Paramore, the two hung out after school together and wrote songs. (Awwww). Again, this leaves us a masterful segue into our next fun fact:

Hayley Williams was not the first person to join Paramore

In this video where she also talks about becoming friends with York, Williams explained that she was trying to do anything to join the band. She wanted either to play base or sing, but both of those roles had already been covered. However, she managed to show the present band members a few of her poems and what she could do. Suddenly, their singer was fired over Aim (#tbt) and Williams was in the band.

Before you get up in arms about the other band members letting go of their original lead singer of instant messenger, we have to remember that they were all kids that were only 12 and 13 years old. At that age they managed to a strong enough framework for a band that became the mega-sensation we know it to be today. I think we may have to forgive them for their less than professional hiring and firing protocol at the time.

Hayley Williams has a four octave range.

It is no surprise to anyone that Hayley Williams has an absolutely sensational voice, but did you know that the singer has a four octave range? Her voice spans from a B2 to a C7. For anyone that knows anything about music, that is a range that will give everyone something to talk about. It was previously said that Williams had a range that spanned from B2 to B6, but at a concert back in 2020 the star pulled a C7 out for the crowds. When it comes with Williams, her talent knows no limit.

Hayley Williams's nickname is "Spongebob".

We all have nicknames that we have gotten from various people in our lives throughout time. Did you know that Hayley Williams's nickname is Spongebob. She got the nickname back when she was 16 from another member of the band. Zac Farro started calling her Spongebob because the star has a gap in her teeth like Spongebob. She shared this information in an interview with NME.
