Joe Budden is looking forward to seeing Rick Ross and T.I. together in the 'Verzuz' ring.

Two years after Verzuz started, it already welcomed several hip-hop artists and showed their battles in its 43 episodes. Despite a long time, T.I. has not participated in it yet, even after he challenged 50 Cent in September. Instead of accepting it, 50 Cent told him to "respectfully stay away" from him.

Recently, Budden said in an episode of his "The Joe Budden Podcast" that the 42-year-old "Whatever You Like" rapper should face Rick Ross in a battle. He explained that it would be nice to see artists return in the "Verzuz" ring despite already winning a battle previously.

While one of the co-hosts expressed his concerns with T.I.'s lack of experience in the ring, Budden said, "But Rick Ross did, and Ross got more than 40 records that he can play with. So now I'm back with a different 20. 'John' in front of T.I. looks different than 'John' in front of 2 Chainz."

Rick Ross has been eyeing to challenge T.I. since his battle against 2 Chainz. In fact, he called him out on Instagram and said he should do a "Verzuz" battle with him.

So far, only Jadakiss has gone into the Verzuz stage twice. He faced Fabolous in 2020 before facing Dipset.

Joe Budden Says Rappers Should Undergo Hip-Hop Test

In a separate interview on the "Earn Your Leisure" podcast, Budden brought up his suggestion that rappers should take a "Hip Hop SAT" before a label signs them. He and his co-hosts, Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings, pointed out the ongoing oversaturation in the interview.

According to Budden, some rappers do not know the basic, adding, "If everybody just knows everything with no consequence, no trial and error, then everybody's just doing the same shit! No! And then you're muddying the water."

His statement led to a debate among fans online. Some approved his suggestion, saying that young rappers should learn more about the genre and culture and know where it came from. Others disapproved of his statement and called him a hater.

Budden's message, however, resonated with what Freddie Gibbs said. For what it's worth, he said hip-hop should take a page out of the playbook in NBA and introduce a rap G-league instead.

Jay-Z also once said hip-hop should have a board who could approve things.
