Randy Blythe has been part of Lamb of God since 1995, and he learned something about popularity after performing with them for decades.

Formed in Richmond, Virginia, as Burn the Priest, Lamb of God continuously promoted until it became one of the best American heavy metal bands. After decades of performing, the band became a huge part of the American heavy metal movement's new wave.

With its unceasing popularity, its frontman reflected on the band's current status and revealed the "most complicated things" the members have to face as part of a successful group.

In his recent interview with James Montenegro's "My 3 Questions To" Series on YouTube, Blythe shared "facts" about the band and unleashed the thorny side of their career.

"I think the most complicated part of it is not really anything within the band," he said. "It's trying to make sense of how this has become a career, really. 'Cause we just did it for the love of it. That's why we started the band. I never thought it would be a job. I was never, like, 'Oh, we're gonna be rock stars,' or whatever."

The frontman added another complicated part, saying how making music became a business. For someone who does not handle the business, things get complicated for them since they need to hire people and buy them gifts, especially during holidays.

In the end, he clarified that the "business" in the music industry was somewhat hard to accept.

"I don't come from the business world. I never had any money. I'm not a rich kid or anything weird like that," he went on.

How To Make Your Career Successful, According to Randy Blythe

Elsewhere in the interview, he shared some tips on how to be a proper metal musician and have a successful music career.

Blythe told the listeners that, while learning to be a professional musician is already complicated, discovering things about the business part could make things easier.
