Foo Fighters formally announced it would continue as a band even after Taylor Hawkins' passing.

Foo Fighters lost its drummer when Hawkins passed away in March. The musician died at the age of 50 while the band was preparing ahead of its Colombia tour.

On its social media accounts, Foo Fighters revealed it would not disband and would continue in Hawkins' honor instead. It also talked about the "healing power of music" while sharing how the members bid goodbye to the most difficult and tragic year.

"Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were - and without Taylor, we know that we're going to be a different band going forward," it said. "We also know that you, the fans, meant as much to Taylor as he meant to you. And we know that when we see you again - and we will soon - he'll be there in spirit with all of us every night."

With the announcement, fans ask for clarification about who will replace Taylor Hawkins in Foo Fighters.

Who Will Be Taylor Hawkins' Replacement in Foo Fighters?

The message clearly divulged that the band would replace Hawkins as the drummer. However, it did not name the permanent replacement yet.

However, it welcomed several temporary replacements during its tribute shows. Among them was 12-year-old drummer Nandi Bushell. She previously played "Everlong" with them at the Forum in Los Angeles.

Previously, The Beatles' Paul McCartney had the chance to replace Hawkins long before he died. He played the drums on Foo Fighters' 2017 album, "Concrete and Gold." The band also has its frontman, Dave Grohl, who can play the kit.

In a 2021 interview with Rolling Stone, Hawkins sang praises about Grohl and his capacity to play the drums. While he called him a winner, the late musician noted the frontman would also come to him if he ran out of ideas.

"When he wants an idea - he said like the last album, 'Hey, I got this song, 'Sunday Rain.' I want Paul McCartney to play drums on it. I want you to sing it and write it. Here's the music. Here's a little bit of a melody idea if you want it,'" he recalled.

Hawkins died of cardiovascular collapse, with the authorities confirming his heart weighed double that of an average man at the time of his death. His urine toxicology test also found 10 substances in his system, including opioids, THC, tricyclic antidepressants, and benzodiazepines.
