The year is 2023, and Taylor Swift is still sitting on top. 

The date may have changed, but it does not seem like our top artist will. Within this first new year of the year 2023, Taylor Swift's record decimating album Midnights looks as if it is about to be the first top album of the new year. 

Since midnight struck on that fateful October night, the album has been destroying records left and right (many of which the star previously set herself!) We are thrilled that the success of this masterpiece means that we can continue to obsess about it because, quite frankly, we do not want to stop talking about it. 

As the world listens to the album on repeat, people find themselves gravitating towards different songs on the album. While there are an array of reasons one can be drawn to a particular songs for a particular reason. These Swift songs are personal and telling. They are downright COSMIC. 

Speaking of the stars...

Something that one could consider equally telling to that of a Taylor Swift bop is your specific star sign. Since both are things of out-of-this-world majesty, we decided to have a bit of fun seeing what they could inform about each other.

1. Aries: Vigilante Sh*t /...Question?

Yes, for the first zodiac of the astrological calendar, we are throwing two songs your way. Aries are known for being competitive, courageous, and fiery. They don't take sh*t from anyone, making "Vigilante Sh*t" an obvious choice for this cardinal sign. In the spirit of Aries's natural high-energy aura, one song was simply not enough. Their confidence makes them incredibly inquisitive and curious, making "...Question?" another obvious choice. (Also Taylor Swift put 13 songs on the official album, so what were we going to do?)

Tauruses are down to earth and incredibly loyal. They find a strong connection with the world around them and are known for their grounded tenacity. When a person is as grounded as those baring this sign tend to be, they need someone who can help to lift them up, pick them up from the dregs of stressors that may seem to come at them every which way during the day. That is why "Lavender Haze" is truly the Taurus anthem. 

3. Gemini: Snow on the Beach 

"Snow on the beach, weird but f*cking beautiful." This line alone perfectly captures the Gemini spirit. Geminis are often stereotyped as being two faced, but in fact they just have a variety of varying interests. They love to explore the different avenues that life has to offer. They are high-energy, easily excitable, and have many differing interests which may cause them to present differently to different groups. These differences may be weird, but they come together to create an interesting result, much like "Snow on the Beach." 

4. Cancer: Sweet Nothing 

Cancer is known for being the most emotionally in tune of the signs in the astrological calendar. The sweet sentimentality that someone with this song embodies is perfectly encapsulated in the song "Sweet Nothing." Cancers are also known to be incredibly nurturing people. This song beautifully lilts the powerful comfort of truly loving and caring for another person. 

5. Leo: Bejeweled 

Leos will makes every room that they walk into shimmer, and that is why they are unquestionably "Bejeweled." Leos are known for their love of the spotlight. Their cheerful and fun-loving disposition make them an exciting social magnet to all. Leos light up any room they walk into. That is why "Bejeweled" is the easy answer. 

6. Virgo: Mastermind 

When it comes to the astrological calendar, Virgos are unquestionably the "Mastermind." While many of the signs are known for their intuition, determination, and planning, Virgos are specifically characterized by their ability to confidently and competently take on many projects at one time. They are known to be hardworking, creative, and patient with a bit of a proclivity to overthinking: all traits that a true mastermind needs. 

7. Libra: Karma 

Libras are known for being well-balanced. What is "Karma" if not the assurance that the world will remain in perfect balance. This star sign seeks to keep things level, being both selfish and selfless. In everything they do, they seem to strike a perfect balance. That is why "Karma" is truly the song of the Libras. 

8. Scorpio: Anti-Hero 

Now, "Anti-Hero" may not seem like the most positive song selection for any sign, but hear us out. We promise it's good! Scorpios are some of the most complex and dynamic people. They are known to be incredibly loyal and honest but can also be quite secretive, keeping to themselves, trying to do everything on their own. Scorpios can often be hard on themselves, frequently blaming themselves for misfortunes. However, much like the song "Anti-Hero" shows us, it's important to love and accept your demons. Scorpios make incredibly friends and are lovely people to be around. (Also, the song slaps so really this is the highest of compliments.) 

9. Sagittarius: Midnight Rain 

Creative and outgoing, the Sagittarius perfectly embodies the adventurous spirit of the song "Midnight Rain". A Sagittarius will never be content to sit in one place complacently, seeing life pass by at a constant and even neutral. Those with this star sign seek adventure, the highs and lows of it all. They are "Midnight Rain." 

10. Capricorn: You're On Your Own, Kid 

Capricorns are known for being incredibly ambitious and hardworking. They are incredibly independent as they fight to reach their goals. This independence often means that those with the sign find themselves working alone. In fact, they likely do their best work alone, even if that may be a bit bittersweet. If Capricorns had a theme song, "You're On Your Own, Kid" would be it. 

11. Aquarius: Maroon 

Aquariuses are known for being unique and idealistic while also being independent and intelligent. One of the most notable things about those whose birth falls under this zodiac sign is that no two Aquariuses present themselves the same way. Now two Aquariuses seem the same. This ever changing form is perfectly captured in the song "Maroon." As the song carries on, the color changes its meaning, much in the way the Aquarius is continuously changing shape, continuously being unabashedly themselves. 

12. Pisces: Labyrinth 

"Labyrinth" is the perfect match for Pisces. Those that are born at this time of year are known for being incredibly emotionally aware. Their sensitivity and sharpened connection with the world around them and themselves leaves they constantly open to assessing their own emotions. What song better depicts that level of heightened emotional awareness than "Labyrinth"?
