An article comparing Jenna Ortega and Kanye West on the basis of their alleged shared "antisemitic hatred" has sparked a heated discussion on social media. West, who legally changed his name to Ye, has been at the center of a storm of controversy in recent months due to his antisemitic remarks.

During a December 1 appearance on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' Infowars, West praised and defended Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. The musician West's antisemitic remarks included posts that led to the temporary suspension of his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Last month, West's Twitter account was permanently suspended after he posted an image of the Star of David containing a swastika. He's now said to be missing and even believed to be dead.

Given how the Kardashians are not reacting to any of the missing or death news, it's safe to assume that he is not.

Meanile, with him gone online, a "new" anti-semitist" has become the target of discussion.

"Wednesday" star Ortega, 20, was compared to West in an article titled "Jenna Ortega vs. Kanye: Whose antisemitic hatred is worse?" and published by The Times of Israel on December 14. At issue, wrote U.S.-based journalist Dan Margolis, was a link shared by Ortega in the midst of a Twitter conversation about helping people around the globe. After posting links to various resources to aid those in need, Ortega shared a link to the Decolonize Palestine organization as well. The critic finds this problematic.

Margolis described the website as promoting "extremist propaganda," adding that it "advocates for the same position as Hamas: the abolition of the State of Israel-the only Jewish state in the world, existing only on a portion of the land where Jews are indigenous."

The website tells a fictional tale in which European Jews were and are foreign invaders who forcibly displaced a peaceful Palestinian population." The critic explained that like millions of other Americans, she probably does not conduct extensive research before posting on social media."

Newsweek has sought comment from representatives of Ortega and The Times of Israel. Margolis explained in his article that he focused solely on Jenna Ortega "because she is an extreme example." Bella Hadid, Emma Watson, John Oliver, and Trevor Noah are among the many others who have adopted Hamas' talking points, but they were not criticised by him, only Ortega, for a good reason.

"None of the entertainers mentioned above have called for the elimination of the State of Israel. Only Ortega, who actually seems nicer than the others, has done that (probably without even realizing it). She seems to be one of the most genuinely well-meaning people, and yet she was the one to post the most genuinely evil piece of anti-Zionist propaganda and broadcast it to more people than there are Jews on Earth," he explained.

Supporters became divided over this criticism. Some said Ortega's pleas and statements about Palestinians deserve to live is all about human rights. Kanye West's statements are pure hatred and all about removing human rights. However, some said the links posted by Ortega truly revealed she wants the destruction of Israel, not just for Palestinians to live.
