Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley's daughter, has been reported dead since Jan. 12, 2023, days after she last appeared at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.

According to sources, she suffered a cardiac arrest but was later pronounced dead after she was put in a medically-induced coma.

Since then, Lisa Marie Presley's cause of death hasn't been officially determined yet. Now, in a recent statement to CNN, the Los Angeles Coroner's office has made an important announcement.

"Presley was examined on Jan. 14, and the cause of death was deferred. Deferred means that after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner is requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies. Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination," LA Department of Medical Examiner spokesperson Sarah Ardalani told the publication.

The singer was 54 years old when she passed away and had apparently died because of a heart attack.

Meanwhile, CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta said in a statement that the reason why Lisa Marie Presley's cause of death was deferred could mean a lot.

"There are things on an initial autopsy, trauma, stroke, significant infections, blood clots, pulmonary embolism," he furthered. "If you see those and they're obvious within the initial physical autopsy, they may come back with a cause of death. But there are things that are deferred. They may want to evaluate more medical records and get more history."

Meanwhile, it was announced that Elvis Presley's mansion, Graceland, which Lisa Marie inherited, would go to her living and surviving children - Riley Keough and Harper & Finley Lockwood.

As for Lisa Marie Presley's resting place, she would be laid to rest beside the spot where his only son, Benjamin Keough, was buried after dying of suicide due to a self-inflicted gunshot in 2020.

Lisa's mother, on the other hand, Priscilla, was "shocked" and "devastated" by the tragic death of Lisa Marie.

"My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time," she said in a statement.
