Just days before her sudden death, Lisa Marie Presley commended Austin Butler's portrayal of her late father, Elvis Presley, in the biopic, "Elvis," at the Golden Globes Awards.

The actor won Best Actor at the Golden Globes Awards, and it was a win that the Presleys celebrated alongside Butler; however, the joyous moment was cut short when Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital and died before the two could forge a deeper connection.

About a week after her death, Lisa Marie was laid to rest in Elvis' iconic Memphis home, Graceland, alongside her father and other relatives.

According to reports, Butler attended the memorial service with his girlfriend model Kaia Gerber; they were seated in the second row, a row behind where the Presley family was seated.

The 31-year-old actor was sporting a black peacoat with matching pants and dress shoes while Gerber wore a black coat ensemble as well.

Other personalities involved in "Elvis" were also in attendance, like director Baz Luhrmann and costume designer Catherine Martin, who were both seated in the third row, People magazine reported.

According to reports, the 60-year-old director even walked over to Butler and embraced him at one point of the service.

Tribute

Shortly after Lisa Marie's death was announced to the public, Butler took to social media to pay tribute to the late singer, and a statement was shared with publications.

"I am eternally grateful for the time I was lucky enough to be near her bright light and will forever cherish the quiet moments we shared," his statement read.

"Her warmth, her love, and her authenticity will always be remembered."

Ironically, it was just a few days prior when he gave a completely different shout-out to her when he accepted his Best Actor award at the Golden Globes: "Thank you guys, thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever."

And in return, Lisa Marie also shared some kind words about the actor and his performance in the biopic.

"Austin Butler channeled and embodied my father's heart and soul beautifully. In my humble opinion, his performance is unprecedented and FINALLY done accurately and respectfully," she wrote on Instagram.

Several pictures of the pair have been shared all over the Internet, most of them showing Butler hugging Lisa Marie and putting his arm around her.
