Ava Max is one of the industry's biggest artists today, but there was a time in her life when she almost gave up on her music career until one of her songs amassed massive success that shot her into international stardom.

Speaking to a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the 28-year-old pop star revealed that she had doubts at the beginning of her career, saying she had a mental break down.

Even though she's not religious, Max said she got down on her knees and prayed because she wanted to be financially stable.

"God, please, if you're listening. I need to pay for my gas. My parents, I want to buy them a house. I just want to help the people I love and I want to perform on big stages and I want to have fans and I want people to relate to my music," she said. (via 106.1 KISS FM)

The musician added that if her song "Sweet but Psycho" didn't become successful, she would ultimately give up on her music career.

Fortunately for her, the song became a massive success and even paved the way for pop music as it was one of the pop tracks that dominated the charts at the time when R&B music was taking over the scene.

Ava Max Career + New Album Coming Out Soon

Ava Max is set to release her new album "Diamonds & Dancefloors," but it wasn't an easy route going to where she is today.

At the age of 14, the singer, whose first stage name was Amanda Kay, began her career by recording a pop/R&B EP. At the time, she immediately knew that she would have a career in the music industry.

The interviewer played a snippet of her old song "Touch" and began humming along to the melodies, saying it was funny to be listening to her baby self.

Despite being talented, Ava Max said no record label wanted to sign her when she dropped her EP and it inspired her to strive even more on her own.

Her new album is said to be a reflection of her life as it represents the strength she got from her family. The upcoming record would also tackle lyrics about heartbreak.

Ava Max's "Diamonds & Dancefloors" will be available for purchase and streaming starting on January 27, 2023.
