Linkin Park appears to be making fun of themselves this time while teasing a significant revelation.

The popular rock band from the 1990s and 2000s was one of the largest in the world, with songs like "Numb," "In the End," and "What I've Done" reaching enormous public popularity.

However, the passing of its lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017 brought about a significant upheaval. His name has been attached to several foundations, including 320 Changes and One More Light Fund.

The rock group had remained intact since Chester's untimely passing, but they hadn't released any new music or performed live since thememorial event when other musicians sang portions of Chester's parts.

However, the surviving members of Linkin Park-Mike Shinoda, Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn, Brad Delson, and Rob Bourdon-ingeniously hinted at a significant announcement.

Many recall downloading their music from questionable places like Limewire; for some reason, everyone headed straight for Linkin Park's tunes.

The websites were rife with viruses, and some would recall doing this and crashing the shared computer in their family.

Linkin Park, however, has already teased their upcoming announcement with a link to their website, which provides a "free download of LiNkiNgPaRk-nUmb.exe," which all millennials will recall from way back when.

The user will arrive at a website after clicking the link that initially gives the impression that the computer has crashed before exposing a countdown clock that will expire on February 1st.

Linkin Park fans immediately began to speculate on what this timer may be, with some speculating that it would be brand-new music.

Others have noted that their second album, "Meteora," which included the popular song "Numb," will commemorate its 20th anniversary in 2023.

Given the significant accomplishment, Linkin Park may be planning something special for their devoted fan base.

But for now, since February 1 is just a few days away, fans will simply have to wait and see what's in store for them.

Linkin Park also commemorated the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album, "Hybrid Theory," in 2020 by putting out a special re-release of the record after finding unheard-of treasures on old hard drives and storage lockers.
