BTS might set a new record at this year's 2023 Grammy Awards.

The seven-member boy group from South Korea first made headlines at the GRAMMY when it earned a Best Pop Duo/Group Performance nomination for "Dynamite" in 2021. It then scored a spot in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2022 for "Butter."

While it did not bring home any of the first two GRAMMY nominations, this year ultimately became the most fruitful one for the group after it earned three nominations.

BTS is currently up to potentially win three awards at the 2023 GRAMMY: Album of the Year ("Music of the Spheres"), Best Music Video ("Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)"), and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance ("My Universe").

For the Album of the Year category, BTS is up against nine other albums: Adele's "30," Mary J. Blige's "Good Morning Gorgeous," ABBA's "VOYAGE," Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti," Lizzo's "Special," Harry Styles' "Harry's House," Brandi Carlile's "In These Silent Days," Kendrick Lamar's "Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers," and Beyoncé's "Renaissance."

Meanwhile, other nominees in the Best Music Video category include Taylor Swift's "All Too Well: The Short Film," Doja Cat's "Woman," Harry Styles' "As It Was," Kendrick Lamar's "The Heart Part 5," and Adele's "Easy on Me."

Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran's "Bam Bam," Sam Smith and Kim Petras' "Unholy," Doja Cat's "I Like You (A Happier Song)," and ABBA's "Don't Shut Me Down," are competing in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

ARMY sent BTS wishes as they wait for positive news from the award-giving body. Still, they also expressed their support regardless of the event's outcome.

Is BTS Attending the 2023 GRAMMY Awards?

There have been rumors that RM and Jungkook will attend this year's GRAMMYs despite the group's indefinite break. However, The Korea Herald has since noted that the members would miss the event due to Jin's current military enlistment and the other's solo career commitments.

For what it's worth, the "Run" hitmaker announced the band's time off during the 2022 BTS Festa. Its leader said the break would allow the members to pursue solo endeavors and grow as a person they want to be outside the K-pop supergroup.

"To be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various different formats," a representative from HYBE clarified at that time.

BTS members look forward to performing as a whole group again once they complete their military services by 2025.
