J Balvin has been significantly quiet on social media over the past few months as the last time he posted any content was in September. Today, the singer is speaking out about the main reason he left the online world and revealed whether he plans on returning anytime soon.

Speaking to Billboard, the Colombian superstar said he has been focused on his family life recently and the reason why he left social media platforms was that he wanted to be connected to his reality and family.

The musician admitted his break from the internet taught him to live in the present. However, despite having fun on his hiatus, it appears that the singer misses interacting with his fans.

"That has taught me a lot. To live more in the present. Obviously, I miss my fans, but when the time is right, I'll be back," he added.

The last update about J Balvin was last year when he postponed his tour dates across cities in the United States due to "unforseen production challenges" regarding COVID-19.

To make up for his fans, he had one-week stint called "Niño Soñador" that traveled in countries like Peru, Argentina, Brazile, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

Months later, he attended the MTV Video Music Awards to perform "Noche de Perreo."

Although he already turned off his social media life in September, he still managed to snag a collaboration with Jordan with a pair of shoes called Air Balvin Jordan 2.

J Balvin Previously Spoke About Social Media Break

Last month, when promoting his "J Balvin Futurum: A VR Concert Experience Presented by Meta and iHeart," the musician spoke out about his social media break, saying he wanted to recharge, focus on his family, and pay attention to himself.

He also wanted to recharge his energy and become stronger than he was before, adding, "And I think it's more harder when it comes about depression, and that's just not only the professional side. It sounds easy but it's not, because we have to deal with a lot of demons that we have to face."

One of the main reasons why he's an active advocate of mental health was because he knows how it feels and felt what other people went through. This is the main reason why he wanted to converse with people with mental disabilities so they do not struggle with it.
