Timbaland and Missy Elliott have collaborated many times in the past and it appears that they will team up again in a new song as teased by the legendary female rapper; is it coming out soon?

According to Vibe, the Grammy Award-winning rapstress took to her Instagram stories last week and mentioned his longtime collaborator, writing, "@timbaland it's go time," along with wink emoji.

The musician also teased the concept of their next project with emojis of an alien and a UFO, seemingly hinting an extraterrestrial-themed music video.

Timbaland responded by writing, "Watch time for us to press that go button @missymisdemeanorelliott we n our bag like always !!!!! Happy Monday."

As of this writing, neither of the two hip-hop artists has announced an official release date, song title, and more information about their reported collaboration.

Timbaland on Working with Missy Elliott

The recent teaser comes a few months after Timbaland spoke to the outlet about getting back to the recording studio with the Hollywood Walk of Fame inductee, saying it's up to her if they were going to team up again as she has "to have a vision for it and what she wants to see."

It appears that the rapper mostly relies on his creative partner when it comes to ideas as he wanted her to conceptualize based on feelings and "the climate of music."

"and if she wants to do it because she has to stand in front of it," he said, explaining that he's the person who gives her the tools for her songs to be successful.

Regarding the release date of their new track, Timbaland hinted last year that it's coming out real soon because "it's about that time."

Elsewhere in the conversation, the rapper said they have many collaborative tracks that the public has yet to hear, saying it's up to Missy Elliott if they're going to release it in the future because it's all about her vision.

In other updates, the female emcee was one of this year's nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame along with other iconic stars like Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, and many more. (via NPR)

The complete list of inductees will be officially announced in May, while the ceremony will take place later this year.
