Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain have been feuding to the point that they reportedly hired off-duty police to guard them.
Billboard (via NME) shared a report on March 2 regarding Journey's continued performances and shows despite the members' several issues.
But as they play together, feuding members Neil Schon and Jonathan Cain reportedly took a massive move to ensure their safety and reportedly protect their privacy. It is worth noting that the members' feud started after they both sued Ross Valory and Steve Smith, but they are now targeting each other over several issues.
Cain's decision to perform at Mar-a-Lago became an issue. On the other hand, Schon's access to Journey's American Express also stirred a problem.
According to the magazine, the pair hired off-duty police to guard their dressing rooms while on tour. Unnamed sources said Schon did it first because he believed "people were out to get him."
They added that Schon and his wife sent an assistant to Cain's dressing room when the band performed in Florida. However, the keyboardist caught the assistant, leading him to hire his own off-duty police.
Insiders added that the estranged bandmates argued throughout the tour as they exchanged tirades about whose guard would outrank the other if ever a dispute broke.
"That's just the level of pettiness and control and conspiracy they came to believe in," one source said.
Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain's Feud
Things went sour between Schon and Cain again after the former filed a lawsuit claiming that the 72-year-old keyboardist set up the band's American Express card without informing the founding member.
Cain, in return, responded to the initial lawsuit and said that the guitarist was the one who personally used the card.

"This is a matter that should have been resolved privately, but I am forced to publicly respond now to Neal's malicious lies and personal attacks on my family and I in an effort to garner public support for his ill-conceived lawsuit - a lawsuit that has absolutely no merit," he said.
He added that Schon was the one with access to the credit card statements, leading him to believe that he only sued him to increase the card's limit.
Due to their heated exchange, Journey's fans became anxious that the band might disband soon. But Schon assured them the band is "not yet done" since Journey "means forever changing.
