Karol G makes a historic Billboard 200 albums chart debut with "Manana Sera Bonito," paving the way for more Latino artists in the coming years to come!

In 2022, Bad Bunny made headlines for debuting No. 1 when his smash album, "Un Verano Sin Ti," was released - making it the second All-Spanish album to debut at the top. The first one was also his own record, "El Ultimo Tour del Mundo," in 2020.

Karol G' Manana Sera Bonito' Billboard Debut

Now, thanks to the growing audience of Latino music in the United States, Karol G has made a stunning debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart as the first All-Spanish album by a female artist to debut in chart history.

Karol G successfully lynched SZA's "SOS" atop, which is supposed to get its eleventh nonconsecutive week at No. 1 this week.

According to Billboard, "Manana Sera Bonito" earned 94,000 album units. Last Thursday, Mar. 2, 2023, Hits Daily Double predicted that "Bonito" had overtaken SZA's album by almost ten units, a day after the latter was the current chart leader on the midweek predictions.

Luminate crunched the numbers of the album and recorded that streaming units comprised a large part of the entirety of the units, with 83,000 streaming equivalent units. Album sales were 10,000 and 1,000 for track equivalent units.

With 118.73 million streams, "Bonito" will go down in history as the biggest streaming week ever for a Latin album by a woman so far.

It is, however, not the first Latino album by a woman who reached the summit. In 1994, Selena's posthumous album reached No.1 - but it contained a mixture of Spanish and English songs - Karol G is the first to have a No.1 all-Spanish album.

It is also Karol G's first Top 10 album on the Billboard 200 charts since she started charting in 2016.

Meanwhile, SZA drops to No. 2 with 87,000 units - based on streaming units alone, "SOS" would emerge victorious versus "Bonito."

Gorillaz's "Cracker Island" launched at No. 3 while Yeat landed his album, "Afterlyfe" at No. 4. Don Toliver's" Love Sick" debut at No. 8.

Former No. 1s fill in the gap with "Dangerous: The Double Album," "Midnights," "Un Verano Sin Ti," "Heroes & Villains," and "Starboy."
