Chuck Morris, popularly known for being a percussionist and a member of the band Lotus, has been missing for days after he and his son went on a kayak trip. Today, the musician and his child are feared dead based on an update from the group.

Taking to their official Facebook page, Lotus shared a lengthy post, saying they are hoping for a miracle, but since the musician had been missing for a while now, they moved their search to a "recovery."

"With help from the K9 team, there is a probable location on the lake, but logistical challenges including temperature, weather, and depth have prevented a recovery thus far," they added. (via Billboard)

Lotus to Celebrate Chuck Morris, Son's Lives

The group further explained that they are not sure until when the efforts would take. Since they are still grieving for the musician, the band is planning to celebrate Morris and his son's lives by looking back at their memories and what they meant to other people.

Lotus expressed their gratitude to those who have reached out to them through emotional support, as well as financial help.

The group set up a GoFund Me page to help the family's financial needs. As of this writing, the fundraising link had already amassed $87,724 out of their $150,000 goal.

According to the page, Chuck and Charley Morris went on a kayak trip on Beaver Lake in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on March 16. The father and son haven't yet returned to their family.

Chuck Morris Wife Issues a Statement

Amid the search for the duo, the musician's wife, Jenny Thompson, took to the band's page to issue a statement, saying their family is grateful for the outpouring love and support.

"Chuck absolutely loves the Lotus family and fans and was so inspired after coming home from this last tour," she added.

Thompson then noted that fans make her husband's life meaningful and she's asking to continue including him in their prayers.

In early reports published by Arkansas Online, Sheriff's Office deputies were able to locate one of the kayaks used on Thursday night, the other one was found the next morning. They were also able to recover a jacket that one of the two used during their trip.

Chuck Morris is a member of the electronic jam band, Lotus. He had been a part of the group since being recruited in 2001.
