It was a sad day for the rock community as Wayne Swinny, the guitarist of the Tennessee-formed band Saliva passed away Mar. 22, 2023. According to reports, the Grammy-nominated band had been on tour with Swinny, and he suffered a fatal condition that led to his demise.

It was said that Wayne Swinny's cause of death was attributed to a spontaneous brain hemorrhage.

Spontaneous Brain Hemorrhage Explained

According to The Mayo Clinic, a spontaneous brain hemorrhage is also called an intracranial hematoma. It is characterized by a collection of blood that leaked within the skull.

Usually, it is caused by a blood vessel that has burst in the brain. Trauma may cause blood vessels to erupt or burst - a car accident or a bad fall may cause this also. The blood that has accumulated in the brain tissue, which is found under the skull, presses on the brain which could cause loss of consciousness and in extreme cases, death.

Usually, the most common cause of spontaneous brain hemorrhage is head injuries - which can be caused by accidents, falls, and even adults.

For older people, a mild bump on the head can be as fatal as it would seem harmless for some. Especially if one was taking blood-thinning medications, like Aspirin, the consequences are life-threatening.

As of this writing, it has not yet been revealed to the public if, during the Saliva tour, Wayne Swinny suffered such physical trauma.
