Eminem came home this weekend to bring one of the year's biggest tours to its conclusion.

The Monster Tour with Rihanna was brief — six shows beginning Aug. 7 in Pasadena — but jam-packed with 50-song setlists and pyrotechnics.

The final show came Saturday night in Detroit, but Em and Ri also thrilled Michigan fans on Friday night at Comerica Park. The Detroit Free Press reports that 45,000 were in attendance for the outdoor gig, and reviewer Brian McCollum was excited about "a poised maturity" from Shady.

"That maturity was the inescapable imprint left from the first of their two stadium shows here," McCollum wrote. "Eminem's three prior Detroit performances had been at this same ballpark, but Friday was the most comfortably confident of them all, as he prowled the stage with a cheerful intensity."

Eric Lacy of MLive made a similar note:

This owner of 10 No. 1 tunes on the Billboard charts reminded a few fans that appeared drunk and stoned in the crowd that he's not the erratic, alcohol-filled, pill-popping Slim Shady of old.

"Goddamnit!," Eminem exclaimed before he performed "My Name Is," the first major hit of his career in 1999 "See, I don't do any of that any of that anymore!"

The rapper whose real name is Marshall Mathers reportedly has at least five years of sobriety and looked during a two and a half hour show with Rihanna as happy and healthy as he's ever been.

At 41, with a lean, muscular frame and plenty of energy, there's no telling how long Eminem can keep this career going.
