XXXTentacion's murderers have been officially convicted five years after the brutal killing of the rapper in Florida.

The murder trial started in February, nearly five years after XXXTentacion was shot and killed at the age of 20. The three convicted men - Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome - were previously found guilty during a trial in March.

XXXTentacion's Shooters Sentence to Life in Prison

Three men were sentenced Thursday following the killing of XXXTentacion - whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy - after they found the suspects guilty of armed robbery and first-degree murder.

Broward County Circuit Judge Michael Usan read the life in prison sentence during the trial. The prosecutors did not seek death penalty for first-degree murder convictions in the case.

Robert Allen, the fourth man arrested, pled guilty to second-degree murder but has not received a sentence. He previously testified, leading the court to bring the charges against the three other suspects.

XXXTentacion's manager, Solomon Sobande, read an official statement from the rapper's family at the sentencing, expressing the lingering heartbreak the bereaved loved ones have been experiencing in the past years.

"This is a loss we will never truly recover from," he said, per Variety. "We will never get to see Jahseh live to his full potential, we will never get to watch him grow old, we will never get to watch him be a father."

The sentencing came after the prosecutors linked the three to the robbery and murder of the young rapper on June 18, 2018. Boatwright, Williams, and Newsome were identified through the surveillance video obtained from the area. The suspects also recorded cellphone videos of themselves showing $100 bills after killing the rapper.

XXXTentacion's Murder Happened After a Robbery Gone Wrong

Lead prosecutor Pascale Achille said during the trial that the then-only 20-year-old rapper was killed after the suspects changed their plans. Initially, they planned to commit armed robberies but bumped into XXXTentacion at a motorcycle shop where they dropped by to buy masks.

The encounter was a coincidence, but the shooters decided to rob XXXTentacion as he left the store.

Before the recent development, defense for Williams, Mauricio Padilla, tried to connect Drake to the case by attempting to bring him to the court. He argued that the "Laugh Now Cry Later" rapper was involved in XXXTentacion's death.

However, the prosecutors did not think so and dismissed the theory, with the judge later ruling that Drake would not be deposed as he was not involved in any way in the case.
