Queen has been one of the most legendary acts in rock music throughout the decades, but since frontman Freddie Mercury died in 1991, the band seemingly stopped releasing new music with other artists. However, it will change soon as they are planning to drop new material with Adam Lambert.

According to NME, the band first toured with Paul Rodgers in 2004 under the collaborative group Queen + Paul Rodgers.

A few years later, they started teaming up with former "American Idol" contestant, Adam Lambert, for a tour. It appears that the relationship between the two music acts is going to the next level as surviving member Brian May teases a potential new music with the hit singer.

Queen + Adam Lambert New Music 2023

The legendary guitarist recently spoke to US Radio where he noted that Queen "have dabbled a little" into making new music, but fans have yet to hear any of it.

"It would have to be something so special that we would feel we would want to launch it on the public," he said.

On the other hand, Lambert is scared to be collaborating with the iconic group as he always questions himself if it's appropriate for him to be doing new material.

"It's a lot of pressure if you think about it. If they're going to put something out that's new, it's got to be at a certain level. It has to be the right thing," he said.

Not The First Time Brian May Speak About Collaborating With Adam Lambert

This isn't the first time Brian May spoke about the possibility of releasing new music with the musician as he previously told Guitar Magazine that he doesn't know when it will happen because it has to be a "very spontaneous moment."

He added that the band and Lambert have been in the recording studio to try things out because "things came up." However, despite recording tracks, the group didn't feel anything that would "hit the button in the right way."

Although the famed guitarist mentioned that Queen didn't feel anything right about the collaboration, he clarified that they are not opposed to the idea.

In other updates, Queen + Adam Lambert will return for their "Rhapsody" tour across North America and they recently added eight more shows. (via Blabbermouth)
