Fans rejoice as Kelly Clarkson finally opened her new era by dropping new music. The musician started with a bang as she dropped two singles combined into one release titled "Mine / Me."

According to Billboard, the "Kelly Clarkson Show" host opened "Mine" with an emotional ballad, which is very reminiscent of her previous songs.

It appears that the former "The Voice" coach is slowly letting the public know that her upcoming album will tackle her divorce as she sang about second-guessing her thoughts and losing "hope in love."

"I've lost all in faith/ Yeah, for a dream that I just close my eyes and it's all blank/ I have you to thank," the lyrics read.

On the other hand, "Me," which was co-written by "abcdefu" songstress GAYLE, is completely different from the first one as her flawless vocals were combined with a gospel choir.

In the lyrics, Clarkson tackled the reasons why she and her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, broke up.

"I told you I wanted you/ But you needed me to need you/ Your insecurity was the death of you and me/ Too many times you questioned, what were my intentions?," she sang.

"Mine / Me," is currently available for streaming on major music platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and more.

Why Did Kelly Clarkson Release a Double Single?

In a statement posted on her official Instagram account, the talk show host explained her team decided not to release just one song as they wanted to represent "an entire album or relationship."

She further discussed that there are a lot of stages of "grief and loss" on the upcoming record and each song is a different stage of what she felt when she was writing the tracks.

Kelly Clarkson Las Vegas Residency 2023

In addition to an upcoming album, Kelly Clarkson will also head to Las Vegas, Nevada, later this year for an exclusive residency that only has ten shows.

The musician will take over the stage of Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino until August of 2023. This would be the first time the singer will have a residency in her decades-long career.

Fans are excited to see the pop songstress perform live as her last public show was in 2019 for her "Meaning of Life" tour.

The residency will feature most of the songs from her new album "Chemistry" as well as her previous hit songs.

Kelly Clarkson's new album will be released on June 23, 2023, via Atlantic Records.
