The long wait is over! U2 has finally released the first set of dates for their upcoming Las Vegas residency titled "U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere." Find out below when they're going to perform and how to snag tickets.

According to Variety, the group will only perform five times in September and October, but fans shouldn't be disappointed as there's still a possibility of them playing shows at the ultra-modern venue, the MSG Sphere, in the near future.

The Edge spoke to the outlet to explain where the band got the title. Even though the series of shows was named after their 1991 album "Achtung Baby," the venue gave them a challenge of putting a show for fans and it boosted their creativity.

The following day, a presale will also happen for supporters who are selected to get access codes.

For those who never got any tickets during the presale, passes for the general public will be available on Friday.

Even though the concerts will be in Las Vegas only, it appears that the venue is similar to other arenas around the United States as it could hold over 20,000 fans every night.

The Sphere is also not your average concert venue as it also amped up its technology with spatial audio to make the sound better as well as thousands of LEDs on the fixed seats.

U2 Las Vegas Residency Will Not Be Available Anywhere Else

The Edge was asked in the interview if U2 has any plans of bringing "U2:UV Achtung Baby" to the world stage or other venues, but the guitarist noted that it would only be exclusive at the Sphere.

"What we're doing is, by necessity, exclusively for this venue. It just wouldn't translate anywhere else. So yeah, that's our intention is to just do it in the Sphere venue," he said.

The musician later clarified that the band is not "giving up on touring" and it doesn't mean that they won't have new material coming in the future.

He also teased fans that they are working on new songs currently, but they don't have plans of releasing a new record anytime soon because they're focused on the shows.
