Murda Mook is having a heck of a year when it comes to mainstream publicity. The emcee, best known for his prowess in the field of battle rap, came out on top in the premiere event against Loaded Lux at Total Slaughter, a battle rap event sponsored by Shady Records in New York City. The rapper has been looking to battle a more mainstream opponent, more as a method of making a quick buck than being challenged (we're just saying...mainstream rappers aren't necessarily any good at battling). So who's willing to take up the challenge? According to HipHopDX and Mook's Instagram, the answer is Drake.

The image features Drake, looking about as confrontational as he can, chatting at a stoic-looking Murda Mook.

"So this is @champagnepapi [Drake] telling me he wants to battle me," Mook wrote in the caption. "And he is actually serious! Who got the check?"

No word on whether there's bad blood involved or whether Drake is just feeling ambitious, or whether any of this is for real. The Young Money affiliate has yet to address the situation on social media.

This isn't a shot at Drake in the least, but he should probably weigh the value of going head-to-head with Mook, especially as Drizzy doesn't come from a background in battle rapping. The performer has been getting some "practice" by "battling" tour partner Lil Wayne recently, but even the glib Wayne wants nothing to do with Mook.

"Don't swing at my neck, I'm bowing out, pause," he said, chuckling. "I'm letting ya'll fans know now, I ain't f----n' with Mook."
