Ever since Taylor Hawkins' tragic and untimely death, longtime fans of Foo Fighters have been asking who the replacement drummer of the band would be. Names have been scarce so far as there was only one person hard-pressed to take over Hawkins' role.

Rufus Tiger Taylor, the son of Queen's drummer Roger Taylor and the godson of Taylor Hawkins himself, is eyed to be the next Foo Fighters drummer.

Rufus Tiger Taylor Foo Fighters Drummer Replacement?

In an interview with BBC Radio 2, Queen's drummer and iconic rocker Roger Taylor spoke fondly about his son, Rufus Tiger Taylor, on a Foo Fighters drummer replacement gig.

"Well, Rufus is phenomenal," he told the outlet. "He's turned into this scary, great drummer with The Darkness. My son, he's just annoyingly powerful and he's become very, very good. I can't say any more!"

When asked about it further, it seemed that Roger had been tight-lipped and vague about his answers, the one who tried not to spill any surprise announcement.

Rufus played "brilliantly" with Foo Fighters, Roger added, saying that he knows all their stuff and attested to knowing the band "very well."

"What exactly is happening now, I don't know," he clarified.

Rufus Tiger Taylor Foo Fighter Performance

Rufus Tiger Taylor replacing Taylor Hawkins might be one of the greatest decisions that Foo Fighters could possibly make.

Not only does Rufus Tiger Taylor, at one glance, look strikingly similar to the late Taylor Hawkins, he seemed to have the perfect record and experience to join the team.

At Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in London and Los Angeles, Rufus Tiger Taylor shocked rock fans when he was famously selected to play with the band. Many have praised him for the performance, pointing out how much he resembles the late drummer and how it would be a full-circle moment for him.

Interestingly, Rufus Tiger Taylor's godfather was the late Taylor Hawkins, so being the one to take over on his spot would be a huge nod to him.

During Rufus Tiger Taylor's Foo Fighter performance at Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert, he played "Best of You," and his father, Roger, also described it as "phenomenal" too.

As of this writing, the Foo Fighters' replacement drummer has not yet been revealed, but it is expected that before May 24, 2023, their first headline show after Hawkins' death, it will be finally disclosed to the public.
