Saliva's original singer Josey Scott shared his thoughts about whether the band should carry on or not after the last surviving member Wayne Swinny's death.

The founding members of Saliva left the band in the years after it debuted in 2001, leaving Swinny behind. The guitarist remained part of the band until his passing in March after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

With the death of the last surviving member, the band's original singer weighed in on whether the group should continue as Saliva or not.

Josey Scott Approves Saliva's New Generation

Speaking with Rock 100.5 The KATT's Cameron Buchholtz, Scott - whose real name is Joseph Sappington - said he is fine with the new lineup continuing as Saliva without any original member.

The vocalist shared that he is close with current Saliva singer Bobby Amaru, and that the new frontman would do an honorable thing for the band.

"He never hasn't done the honorable thing. And I just trust in his steering the ship at this point, and I know he's gonna do the right thing," Scott said. "And I know it's all gonna work out; it's all gonna be great."

Saliva officially started its career in 2001 with the double-platinum selling album, "Every Six Seconds." It presented several hit songs including "Click, Click Boom" and "Your Disease."

The band's standing in the industry gave the members a chance to play and tour with other A-list bands, including Sevendust, KISS, and Aerosmith. Scott released six albums under the band before he left in 2011 and returned last year to perform with the lineup at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival.

Meanwhile, Saliva released its plans after Swinny's death. In a statement in April, it confirmed the release of a new album which the late member recorded before his death.

The upcoming release has been approved by the guitarist's family, and the band assured fans it would remember and honor the member's legacy.

Josey Scott's Relationship With Wayne Swinny Revealed

Following Swinny's death, Scott looked back at his relationship with his former bandmate, calling him an "absolute brother."

He noted that, despite the tension they had, they always treated each other like family they always ended their text messages with "I love you, brother. I can't wait to see you again."

Swinny died on March 21 due to a brain hemorrhage after he was initially found "in medical distress." He was admitted to the ICU where he was declared a few hours later.
