Skid Row canceled its entire 2023 Australian tour amid Erik Gronwall's health issues.

Australia-based Skid Row fans, especially from Brisbane, received bad news from the band after it confirmed its supposed show at The Triffid in the city. It revealed in an update that Gronwall suddenly fell ill.

Instead of a new schedule announcement, Skid Row informed the fans of the cancelation of the 2023 Australian tour dates.

Skid Row 2023 Australia Tour Canceled

On Skid Row's official Twitter page, the band delivered the unfortunate news regarding the cancelation of the remaining Australia tour dates. It also apologized for the initial cancelation before expressing disappointment over failing to perform as planned.

While it performed during the Sydney stop, Gronwall still feels the same symptoms after the show - prompting them to cancel the last schedules.

 

"This decision is not an easy one. Please know that we are already working swiftly to reschedule these dates as soon as possible," it said. "Our management and promoters are actively exploring options, and we will keep you updated on any developments regarding the rescheduled dates."

Skid Row asked fans who have already purchased tickets for their patience and understanding, assuring them that they would still be honored for the rescheduled dates.

It has not confirmed new information regarding the new schedule, but it took its time to thank its loyal fans for understanding. The affected shows of the cancelation include Skid Row's stops at Bridgeway, Adelaide and 170 Russell, Melbourne on May 20 and 21.

The 2023 Australia tour was supposed to happen in December 2022, but Dave Sabo's neck surgery kept them from pushing through its plans.

Previously, Gronwall suffered and recovered from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which he initially thought to be COVID-19. He started his treatment in August 2021 and underwent a bone marrow transplant to improve his health. One year after the procedure, the singer declared he was cancer-free.

Erik Gronwall Surprises Skid Row's Fans

Before Skid Row jetted to Australia for its 2023 show, the band frontman gifted the fans with a music video of his cover of "Chop Suey!"

He collaborated with multi-instrumentalist Philip Näslund to complete the track, according to Ultimate Guitar.

Gronwall has been busy with Skid Row, as well, after he marked the beginning of his journey with the band in the 2002 "The Gang's All Here," which served as the band's first music project since the 2006 "Revolutions Per Minute."
