Avicii, born Tim Bergling, was one of the most prominent EDM DJ slash producers back in the early 2010s; he released hits like "Wake Me Up," "I Could Be The One," "You Make Me," "Waiting For Love," and more.

With his career in full swing, it seemed like Avicii's career was just beginning, and he was well on his way down music history.

However, the world was shocked when they found out that he had died back in April 2018 at the age of 28.

Over five years later, producers are working on two different documentaries about his life.

First Documentary

According to reports, the first documentary was announced back in September 2021, and it will go through Avicii's life before and during his rise to fame.

This documentary's title is yet to be announced, but it was revealed to have been produced by Candamo Film and filmed by the Swedish National Television.

The director, Henrik Burman, was the genius behind another documentary "Yung Lean: In My Head. Fellow Swede Björn Tjärnberg," released in 2020.

Fans would have to wait a little longer for its release, but the documentary is expected to premiere this year.

Second Documentary

On the other hand, the second Avicii documentary was just announced earlier this week.

This documentary will be under the helm of Lawrence Bender and will focus on the legacy and indelible mark the Swedish DJ slash producer left on music.

"Avicii changed the music industry," said Orlando John, talent managed who handles musicians like Wyclef Jean, Joel Kinnaman, and more. "People think they know the story, but they have really no clue as to what actually happened.

"I feel a profound responsibility to ensure that it's told accurately and objectively. This documentary will give the audiences a deeper understanding of the brand that left an indelible mark on music and culture."

These new documentaries about the late DJ slash producer are just drops in the bucket. Several other documentaries like the 2022 doc "Tim," and "True Stories," were released several years back, and also highlight the rise and fall of the EDM superstar.

Prior to his death, Avicii struggled with his mental health. He turned to alcohol, which caused him to have acute pancreatitis; and he got addicted to drugs.

Despite his health, Avicii pushed to continue performing shows, going against his management and family's suggestions to stop.
